I remember doing one of these kind of posts quite a while ago and I absolutely loved it and got great feedback from it so I thought I'd do another! I tend to put all my artwork on other platforms, most commonly instagram where I now have an account solely dedicated to my art.

(What's a blog post without a shameless self promo eh? You can follow my art instagram here)

But I really want to start posting more of them on here for those of you that don't follow my other socials.

Over the past few years I've really been trying to practice on my 'realism'. I'm still nowhere near as clean and accurate as I could be but I feel like I have definitely improved. These drawings that I have included have been done throughout a 3 year period so some aren't as great, in my opinion. However, I wanted to include them anyway because I am still proud of them.

As you can probably tell, I much prefer portrait style art. Growing up I was always getting my mum or my brother to sit down and let me draw them or take close up photos of their eyes (I was obsessed with drawing eyes at one point). So much so I had an entire sketchbook full of different eye drawings. I just found them so satisfying and I still do. It did take me a while to decide what drawing style I most preferred and what I was best at and wanted to 'specialise' in as such (100% not a specialist, but basically I just wanted an art style that I stuck with and dedicated most of my time into, lol) and portraits are definitely the ones for me!

I've also really got into designing tattoos recently. Mostly floral designs at the moment. I haven't got many of those on the internet yet, however, as I've got a few ideas in mind for the future regarding my tattoo designing. So if it's something that interests you stay tuned.

So I know we are already almost a week into December but I couldn't not do this. To be honest, I've been finding it hard to get into the festive spirit this year. We haven't decorated the house yet, I haven't watched Elf or any Christmas movie at all yet (usually by this point I'll have watched Elf at least 3 times) and I haven't even started my Christmas shopping. I just feel like Scrooge this year and I can't seem to shake it.

However, I've seen a lot of people doing these posts recently and it's really got me in the mood to put a list together of all the things I want to do this month to hopefully get me a bit more Christmassy. And I know that as soon as I start ticking a few off that'll be me set.

1. Watch Elf (had to be first on the list really didn't it)

2. Decorate the house

3. Create a Christmas playlist

4. Bake Gingerbread cupcakes

5. Spend an evening at the Christmas markets

6. Do my Christmas shopping

7. Purchase a new Christmas jumper

8. Give back to charity

9. Go see some Christmas lights (you know them houses that go all out for charity? Yes. That!)

10. Make my own mulled wine

11. Do some Christmas related blog posts

12. Read a Christmas book

13. Do the Christmas food shop

14. Go ice skating

15. Attend a carol service

16. Make a banging hot chocolate

17. Spend an evening wrapping presents and writing cards

18. Get new Christmas PJ's

19. Be the one in charge of the Christmas dinner (and try not to burn the house down or get so stressed that I cry in the corner of the kitchen for two hours)

20. Watch the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special on Christmas Day (so freaking excited!)

21. If it snows (lol, UK, no chance), have a snowball fight

22. Have a Christmas movie marathon

23. Go on a Winter walk

24. Write down all the things I want to achieve next year

25. Just have the most enjoyable and relaxing Christmas Day with my boyfriend (and go to the pub, tradition)

Now, if I'm not feeling Christmassy after all that, then we have a serious problem.

If you haven't already done a to-do-list for this month, what sort of things would you like to do?

Can we just all take a moment and let it sink in that we are now in December? It's almost a new year (and decade, holy shit) and I can't quite believe how quick this year has gone. I'm also over the moon that it's now fully acceptable to get out the Christmas decorations, jumpers, songs, movies, etc. And no one can say shit about it 'still only being November'. Suck on that, scrooge.

Now, moving on before I go on too much of a tangent. I don't know about you but I've always been a huge lover of quotes. And as sad as it is, when I was younger I used to have a notebook called 'Krystal's Book of Great Quotes'. (You don't need to tell me how creative I am, I know!) I literally had it full to the brim of quotes that I'd see and write down. I really wish I still had it because I was only 8 at the time and can guarantee there would have been some absolute bangers in there (probs not!).

I thought in today's post, I would share with you some of my favourite quotes, be that inspirational, powerful or just down right funny ones. If you're having a bad day, I hope some of these will help cheer you up or if you're feeling unproductive (like me, everyday), I hope some of these quotes can get you up and on with your day. Unless its 1am and you're only just stumbling upon this, then you should probably go to bed. Thank me later.

I tried to include who quoted these, but some I couldn't find. And if I'm being brutally honest, I don't even know if these are the first people to quote all these soooo, don't shoot me.

Am I even allowed to say 'long time no see' anymore?

The only post I have done since 2016 (yes it has been that long, wow) has been a 'hi I'm back' post in May last year and then I disappeared again. And the only explanation I really have, is that I just fell out of love with my blog and life became a bit shit for a while.

The main reason why I think I fell out of love with it, is because I felt like I didn't fit into the blogger community very well and it is 100% my fault, I realise now. I spent way too much time stressing over the layout, the theme, the content, the photos (all of which are still as shit now as they were back then) that I didn't get myself involved with other bloggers. I didn't communicate as much as I could have, I didn't attend blog events I got invited to - I just distanced myself but kept uploading content. And as you can imagine, after a while it got very lonely and very monotonous, so I just stopped and have regretted it for a long time.

I think I mentioned in my previous post last year, that life wasn't the kindest to me. I lost my mum in May 2017, which was by far the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with and I'm still adjusting to life without her now. I had to have my appendix removed in August of that year, then my tonsils in April last year. Since then and since that last post, I had an operation to sort out my deviated septum, so I could breathe (or thats what was supposed to be the outcome) in August last year. That operation didn't work so I had revision surgery on it earlier on this year in June, a week after coming back from a lovely holiday in Gran Canaria with my boyfriend (see photo above for the beautiful view from our balcony) and let's just say it did not go to plan and I became very ill after a ruptured artery during the operation. I'm going to do another mental health update when I feel ready to, in which I'll explain everything a bit better, hopefully. But right now it's just not something I'm ready to go into on here.

However, all that aside, I'm honestly really excited to start blogging again and I think it will really benefit my mental health and give me something to focus on - which I need right now.

If you have got this far, thank you. If you are a returning reader, I'm glad you have stuck around. And if you are new, welcome to my shit blog ha! As I mentioned before, I am wanting to connect with bloggers a lot more this time round, make new friends and rekindle with old ones.

So that being said, please do leave a comment with your blog and your twitter or insta, so I can go over and give you a follow. I'm looking forward to the next step of this journey for my blog and I hope I make it worthwhile enough for you to come on the journey with me.

It's been that long, I genuinely don't know how or where to start this post... so, hi? I was going to apologise for being so MIA over the past year, but when I really sit down and think about it, I shouldn't be so caught up in what other people think or what I feel is 'expected of me' with having a blog. Obviously I love all of you that read my blog (if there's any of you left!) and I feel super bad for just disappearing off the scene with no real explanation.

However, I've definitely learnt that it is more than ok to have a break from time to time. Sometimes life just gets in the way and there's nothing you can do about it...

and that's OK!

I think the break is honestly what I needed after the year I had. Without going into too much detail, I lost my mum just over a year ago (which some of you may know about if you follow me on twitter), 2 weeks after starting the training course for the new job I got. So as you can imagine, everything was a bit stressful for a good while. Since then my health decided to take a turn for the worst, probably due to the upset and the stress I was facing. I had my appendix removed in August which I had a lot of complications with afterwards, my tonsils removed last month as a result of having tonsillitis 12 times last year and I'm having another operation in a few months time... yeah, I know. I can't quite believe it all myself.

Losing my Mum has by far been the hardest thing I have had to deal with in my life. Nothing can ever prepare you for losing a loved one - absolutely nothing. It came as such a shock to me and my family and I just retracted from everything for a while, I needed to get my head in a better place. I've come to learn that the death of a loved one is not something you just 'get over', you just learn how to cope with it over time. Everyone grieves differently and I think I'm just struggling with the whole 'coming to terms that she's actually gone' thing.

I don't want to go on and on and feel like I'm moaning but just wanted to give you a quick life update and let you know that I am back. Hopefully for good this time, if life doesn't decide to absolutely dick me again. Great choice of words Krystal.

So to those still around, thank you for sticking with me and I hope you'll continue with me on this new chapter!

Much love,

I may be just a little bit obsessed with Instagram lately. I seem to spend hours without realising, scrolling down my feed and getting totally jealous of everyone's amazing photos. Spending so long trying to pick a 'theme', taking photo's that match said 'theme' and generally just becoming an instageek.

That being said, there are a few people on Instagram that I am seriously in awe of and probably have a gander of their feeds at least nine times a day. If you aren't following these people, then there is something seriously wrong with you.

Oh Bee, what a lovely lady with a lovely insta feed. I am 100%, completely and utterly in love with her feed, and also 100%, completely and utterly jealous at the fact that she goes on holiday all the freaking time and takes '#instagoals' worthy pictures on her travels. Like seriously, Bee, stop. Enough is enough. Either that, or take me with you next time. Thank you!

Imii Mace

Oh my actual days, Imii probably has the most 'pleasing to eye' feed I have ever come across. Perfection has never been defined better. I don't know how she does it, but it's magical. Just when I start to like my Instagram, I take a look at Imii's and literally go from 100-0 in 2 seconds and hate myself and want to delete everything and give up on life. Ok, maybe not that extreme, but still.

Sophie is a literal babe. I honestly love this girl. I think the thing about her Instagram feed is that it is such a true representation of her and her personality. She takes such gorgeous photo's and it's just a joy to scroll through her feed. On point, all the time, with every single photo. There's not one photo I see that I don't like of hers.

I loveeeeee Liam's feed so much. The colours are just fab and the picture quality is top notch. I love how down to earth his feed is. It's so simple but looks absolutely incredible. His photo's always really stand out. Little secret, I was once taking a 'quick glance' at his feed and ended up scrolling through the whole thing. No shame.

Ugh, looking at Adam's feed just makes me want to be a male, ha! He is a fashion blogger and his style is just #goals. I just scroll through his feed and think to myself 'when I get a boyfriend, I'm going to make him dress like this'. Genuinely. So if you want to gaze at amazing male fashion, follow Adam. Oh Emmie, the queen of flatlays. Seriously, I am so bloody jealous of this woman. If you love flatlays and more importantly flatlays with cups of tea in them, then Emmie is the gal for you! She's also daaaamn pretty, so every selfie is on point. Teach me your ways Emmie.

So before I start, you may be wondering why the word cope is in quotation marks. The main reason is because I use the word cope very, very loosely. Mostly due to the fact that I still don't think I am at the stage where I am fully coping with my anxiety, more just learning how to manage it. I still have and probably always will have really bad days, it's just more recently they have been a lot more frequent and my attacks have been worse.

Just as a side note: I'm really sorry if you don't want to read a long, rambling post this morning, but I thought it was about time I wrote about this, so please bare with me if this post is all over the place. It's not something I'm going to proof read properly, or make 'perfect'. I just need to get it written, whatever the outcome and I know that if I spend time, re-reading this afterwards and making sure it's all ok, I will probably not post it because I will start doubting myself and panicking, so yeah, I'm just going to go for it.

At the beginning of this year, I posted my first 'Let's Talk Anxiety' post, which was basically just me opening up about the way it affects me and how it all 'began' as such. Since then, I have received so much support off people, which I honestly could never have asked for, so thank you. The fact that I know that there are people out there that care, is one of the main reasons why I am able to manage my anxiety better now.

Although my anxiety has flared up pretty bad over the past few months (hence why my activity on here hasn't been great), It's meant that I have found a few ways that help calm me down. I never have been on any sort of medication for my anxiety and quite frankly, as of right now, I don't intend to. I know everyone is different and medication works for some people, but I personally, do not want to have to rely on medication as I feel as though once I start, I may not be able to cope without it and that is certainly not something I want to happen.

Instead, I want to be able to find natural ways to cope with my anxiety and there are a few ways I have discovered that really have helped.

Meditation

Meditation has always been something that I have been aware of but never really known much about and/or put into practice. I have meditated a few times but never actually taken it seriously, done it regularly, or tried using it as a calming method. Recently however, I have started to learn more about meditation as a whole and about different techniques that I can use and try out to see which, if any, help me. I can honestly say that it has definitely been a help for me. I don't do it all the time but I find that now and again it can really have a positive effect.

Exercise

Health and fitness is a huge part of my life and I've found that it has really helped with my anxiety. Going for a walk, or for a run, or to the gym, with my headphones in, listening to my favourite music definitely helps calm me down if I am feeling panicky. It allows me to just switch off and enjoy what I love, rather than worrying.

Watching the sunset

I don't know why but there is something about watching the sun set that just instantly calms me and helps me feel so relaxed. I have loved watching the sunset for as long as I can remember. It's crazy how something so simple that can make you feel so content. The world really is a beautiful place sometimes.

Reading

I've always been a huge lover of books since a young age and at any opportunity I have, I whack open the latest book that I am reading. Reading a book is a great way to just switch off from life for a bit and indulge yourself into another one (almost, or at least that's how books make me feel anyway). It's a great calming method to use if I am feeling anxious before going to bed, as I can read until I feel tired enough to fall asleep and usually stops me from being kept awake all night feeling anxious.

Talking

This is what I am most definitely worst at, but I am getting better at it. I find it so hard to talk about my mental illness because there are always those people that say that you are attention seeking if you talk about it but making yourself worse if you keep it locked away, which is so contradicting. I guess when you put parts of your life on the internet, this is what you have to deal with and try to ignore, but having anxiety really doesn't allow you to, the majority of times. I literally never used to talk about it, to the point where I would overthink everything and work myself up to the point where I literally couldn't leave the house because I couldn't deal with having to face people. But over the last few months, especially since I posted my Opening Up post, I have been finding it easier (still incredibly hard, but there's definite progess) to talk to people and it has been like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. But, I still have a long way to go with this. I'm working on it!

All in all, I feel like I have come a long way since I first starting struggling with anxiety and panic attacks, especially this year, I have seen a huge difference. It's still a battle but I feel like I am getting stronger, slowly but surely.

If you suffer from anxiety also, I would love to hear if this post helped in anyway and would love to try and help you. I find helping others, helps me too. Talking to people who understand you and can actually empathise with you is so beneficial, so if you ever need to talk, I am here.

Just remember...

Don't let your mental illness define you, don't let your struggle become your identity. Talk openly, it's ok to not be ok.

So for the past few days I have been in Lancaster visiting my best friend. On Saturday, we decided to go on a walk round the park by Ashton Memorial. The building itself was commissioned by Lord Ashton in 1909, in memory of his late wife. It is such a beautiful building which completely dominates Lancaster's skyline, situated in Williamson Park.

It's such a nice place to just spend an hour or two walking around. Thankfully the weather was so nice as well, We took Harvey (her new little puppy) with us along the way and he totally enjoyed all the 'new puppy' attention he received by everyone walking by. There is also a butterfly house and a little cafe which is absolutely lovely but we didn't go in, purely because we had Harvey with us and couldn't take him in.

I happened to take a small selection of photo's which I thought would be nice to share with you all and I also posted a video on YouTube that you can totally be amazing and check out too (hint hint!)

I didn't want to take too many photo's of the building because there was a wedding going on at the time (which by the way, it is such a cute venue to hold a wedding, if anyone is ever looking for venue's) and I felt a little bit rude, even though they probably couldn't even see me! We also couldn't see the inside or go up the memorial due to the wedding so maybe I'll get the opportunity to do that next time.

I would definitely recommend that if you live close to Lancaster or happen to travel there, you should go and visit this place!

When I was younger, the thought of living on my own was actually quite terrifying. Who's going to cook everyday? Who's going to do all the cleaning? Who's going to pay all the bills? How the hell do you even pay bills? But in actual fact - it's awesome.

No pants? Absolutely no problem.

You know when you sleep in just a shirt? Or just your underwear and you need to go to the kitchen? Now there's no need to put on clothes just to go get a drink and then get undressed again.

You can poop freely.

Who needs to close the bathroom door? No housemate is going to awkwardly walk past, poo freely and to your hearts content.

You can decorate however you like.

Without housemates having any input what so ever. So that huge moose head you always wanted to put in the living room above the fireplace? GO FOR IT. No one can judge.

Space, space and more SPACE.

All the kitchen cupboards? Yours. All the wardrobes? Yours. All the drawers? Yours. Bookshelf? Yours. Every little bit of space is yours. It can't get much better than that can it?

You can eat whatever you want, whenever you want.

Who says you can't have cake for breakfast, lunch and tea? When you live by yourself, no one is around to judge your eating habits or the contents of your fridge. Go wild.

You're music can be as loud as you want it to be.

Full volume was invented for a reason, use it. Who's going to be around to stop you from dancing around the whole house in just your pants, blasting out the Glee soundtrack?

Sing as loud as you want in the shower.

And never be judged if your angelic voice is a little rusty at 8am.

No bed time.

You can get up whenever you want and go to bed whenever you want. If you want to watch a whole series of your favourite programme on Netflix until 4am, then you can do just that.

"It's quite cold outside, are you not going to take a coat?" is simply unheard of.

Remember living at home and having your parents insist on you taking a coat to the club with you on a Friday night? That is quite frankly no more.

And no matter how expensive bills can be...

When you pay them off, you feel like a complete and utter BOSS.

So to all those people who said that living on your own in your early 20's would be extremely hard and you'd feel lonely 24/7, it really isn't that bad at all.

I realise I have been a little bit MIA again and I can only apologise. Life kind of got in the way. But I'm back (for reals this time).

I have recently just celebrated my 23rd birthday and in those 23 years of being alive (congrats to me for surviving this long), I have learned a number of things, some more important than others, but hey, maybe you'll laugh along with my stupidity.

1. The UK is crap. Ship me to the Maldives please.

2. The weather in the UK is also crap, all the time.

3. You should never eat yellow snow.

4. Tea can fix everything.

5. Never put the milk in first. People who do that are stupid.

6. The majority of people are stupid.

7. University isn't all its cracked up to be.

8. Finding a job after university is hard.

9. I cannot drink Sambuca without being horrendously ill the next day.

10. I still drink Sambuca anyway.

11. Apparently I can eat so much junk and not put on any weight (thank you metabolism!)

12. There's always a good excuse to order Domino's.

13. You shouldn't spend your days worrying about irrelevant things.

14. Instead, order Domino's. See.

15. Never stay with someone who doesn't treat you right. It's better to get out of that relationship than to stay and get hurt. The longer you let it go on, the harder it will be to move on.

16. Boys are stupid. Throw rocks at them.

17. It's definitely okay to cry sometimes.

18. But ordering Domino's helps. See.

19. Living by yourself is actually great.

20. I can binge watch a whole series of Pretty Little Liars on Netflix in 2 days.

21. If you're going to walk around the house naked, close the curtains. If you can see out, people can see in.

22. Even though I'm 23, I still look about 12.

23. And get ID'd for everythaaaaaan, including cutlery. Yes, you heard it, cutlery.

I bet you're all thinking "Oh my God, you are actually posting!". Yes, yes I am. Well, I can guarantee a lot of you have probably not noticed or lost interest and I completely do not blame you. I haven't posted since January (sorry!). You see the funny thing is, I was supposed to be daily blogging this year. Yeah I know. I got to the 9th January, 9 DAYS. Oh well, maybe next year!

No, but seriously, this post isn't going to be one of those where I list all the dozens of excuses about why I've been a bit MIA. Well it kind of is, but it isn't. It's mainly just an apology, a sincere apology to those who have stuck by me since I started this funny old blog in June last year (can we just take some time to appreciate that its almost been a YEAR since I started blogging? Wow!).

If I'm going to be honest, life has just been a bloody horrible roller coaster this year. I know that's most people's excuse for disappearing but it's true. I have been dealing with a lot of personal issues and illness, alongside trying to complete my university degree and all that tied in with my anxiety, well, I think you can imagine, has made life a little bit hard!

Most of you know by now that I suffer from anxiety. I did a post about it the beginning of this year that you can find here if you want to know more, as I'm not going to go into detail now. I'm not by any means looking for attention, or looking for sympathy, or an easy way out as to why I haven't posted but it has flared up pretty bad and I hope you can all understand that blogging hasn't been on the forefront of my mind these past few months.

I have taken this time out to try and get myself back on the straight and narrow and no, I am no way near there yet, as there are a lot of things going on in my life that I can't discuss with you, but just please stick with me, I'm getting there! I'd like to say that I'm back for good now, as that's what I'm hoping. However, don't be mad if I don't post for a week or two, here and there! These things take time, some things just take longer than others.

I just want to say a massive thank you to all of you who have stayed with me this far (if there's any of you left, ha!) and I can't wait to get my blog back up and running! You are all amazing and I love you to the moon and back.

This year, seeing as I love (and have a slight obsession) with music, I thought I would start a series in which I share with you my monthly playlist. I was considering doing this a while back but thought 'Nah, I'll save it until the New Year, that way it looks more exciting' (How I thought this would make any difference when I started it, I do not know, but let's roll with it shall we). I did a post like this during Blogmas 'The Best Christmas Playlist' and people seemed to enjoy it, so I thought, why not continue doing it monthly. So here I am.

Within this playlist I have included a few recent releases along with a few classics that I have re-found my love for, Including Naive by The Kooks and Hotel California by Eagles (What a TUNEEEEE!) Since everyone has been raving about Star Wars, I thought I would throw in a cheeky little medley, also purely because it is just awesome.

I apologise for the extremely short post but I never quite know how to make these posts long without feeling like I am rambling on. Which I am probably doing now without realising. Ok, enjoy!

Now before you start thinking, no, this isn't a full tour of my phone because lets be honest, that would be painfully boring. For both me writing it and you reading it. However, I thought it would be useful to show you a few of my favourite/most used apps. These are apps that I tend to use daily and/or could not live without (I'm joking, but they do of course make my life a whole lot easier!)

You can download all of these apps FREE from the App Store, so enjoy!

Spotify: I'm sure the world and their dog knows what Spotify is but just in case you don't, Spotify is a free music streaming app where you can download and listen to all your favourite songs. It has thousands and thousands of songs on there to keep you happy! I use spotify ALL the time. That (along with Apple Music) are my most used apps. I don't think I could live without music (I currently have Spotify playing right now as I write this, totally not obsessed at all!)

Buffer: This app has changed my life forever. Buffer is a social media scheduling app. By this I mean, you can share to platforms such as Twitter (what I mainly use it for), Facebook, Pinterest etc on your schedule! Being able to schedule tweets for when my posts go live has literally made my life 10x easier. It means I won't ever forget an update also! It's so quick and easy to use and I LOVE it. It's perfect for those days that you know you will be busy, away from your phone and unable to post updates, so you can schedule them then and there and you are sorted!

Wunderlist: As you know, I am a huge lover of lists! I find it so satisfying being able to cross things off my to-do lists. This app is great for creating lists and is so easy to use. You can have a number of different lists active at the same time and you can cross things off as and when you have done them. It is so useful. I use this constantly! Definitely worth getting.

Font Candy: This is a recent app to appear on my phone lately. I love using editing apps for both Instagram and my blog photos. For some of my blog photos, I tend to put text over them. So, I wanted a good app that would allow me to do that and this is it! There are a wide range of fonts and you can change the size and colour and everything too! It's perfect for those little tweaks you want to make to a photo.

Ultimate Guitar Tabs: If you didn't know, I play guitar. I have done for SO many years and so I use this app all the time. It's perfect for finding chords and/or tabs for your guitar. I swear by this app. If you are a musician and play guitar then this app is honestly the one for you! Its such good quality and has all the resources you need to be able to play your favourite songs!

Universal Remote: This is is amazing. You can basically control your laptop with it. I usually use it when I plug my laptop into my TV so I can watch things and pause it without having to get up and down. So, it's safe to say that this app makes me incredibly lazy but who cares? Means I can stay curled up in bed and not have to budge. Winner, winner! There's also remotes for Netflix and things like that. It's honestly incredible. I highly rate this app as it just makes my life so much easier!

If you don't like personal posts then this really will not be the one for you. Today is much more of a serious post. I have been keeping this sat in my drafts for I don't know how long. I'd go back to it every now and then, decide to change parts of what I wrote or cut parts out, go to publish it and then think 'I just can't do it!' I have just been so scared of showing people the other side to me that most don't see. There are parts of my life I try and keep relatively private and this is one of them.

Not too long ago, the lovely Robyn started a new project #LetsTalkAnxiety aimed at raising awareness of the illness. As I struggle quite badly with anxiety, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to finally be open and honest with people, as I don't really like to talk about it but I feel like I need to. I feel like today is the day I have to get everything off my chest.

The thing with anxiety is that some don't realise that it is actually a mental health illness. The words 'mental health' often get thrown around so much and often doesn't get taken seriously. People think that anxiety isn't an illness but it is. They think it isn't serious, but it is. The amount of times I have had people saying things like 'It's all in your head', 'you don't need to worry about something so stupid' or 'you could have a real illness' is beyond me. I mean, how insensitive can people be? I can guarantee that it REALLY does not make me feel any better. It makes me feel 10x worse.

The main reason I really didn't want to have to write this post is because of those types of people. The type of people who would say I was attention seeking if I blogged about it and making myself worse if I kept it to myself.

Like many others who suffer from anxiety, there are certain situations and places that trigger mine. I suffer from panic attacks. Thankfully, not as many as I used to but still a lot. I get anxious at just about anything that involves me being in busy public situations. So, train stations, actually being on the train, the tube, buses, shops and so on and so forth. The thing with my panic attacks and anxiety is that I KNOW that the situation is more often than not, not dangerous, but my mind decides to think otherwise.

When struggling with panic attacks your brain goes into 'fight or flight' mode, and 99% of the time I want to run away from the situation (flight) but obviously that isn't possible for most situations, like if I'm stuck on the train or whatever. So as you can imagine, it causes my anxiety to fly sky high, I struggle to breathe and I seriously panic. It happens near enough every time I am faced with a situation like that, or similar. My brain recognises that I have been in a situation like this before, remembers how I reacted and then triggers that situation to be dangerous and causes the same feelings to reappear.

I had my first ever panic attack on the tube down in London. It was packed and I was squashed in between dozens of people that I didn't know. The tube ride was only 5 minutes long, but it felt like hours. I remember standing there, shaking and crying and people around me were staring, making me feel a million times worse. I felt like all the life was being sucked out of me. Extreme, I know, but true. I felt like I had never felt before, the feeling of pure fear, that I wasn't going to make it out alive. I sound so stupid even talking about it because I know I was not in any danger what-so-ever but at the time, it felt like I was in a battlefield.

So now, whenever I am faced with situations similar to this, I panic. I REALLY panic. There's times when I feel like I am so alone. I feel like I can't talk about it because people will never fully understand. People will never be able to completely help you and empathise with you, unless they have been through it themselves. It's why I find it so incredibly hard to deal with. I used to lock myself away and never talk about it, but it did in fact make me feel a lot worse. I always feel like I am just bothering people and being a burden. I need to learn that I'm not and that it is more than ok to talk about it.

It's a battle, a mental and physical battle. But one day I hope to come out on the other end, a lot happier and free from my anxiety. However, like with most things, it takes time. I know it will take time and I accept that. I accept that it hasn't been and won't be an easy recovery, but I'm determined to get better!

I also just want to point out that if any of you are also suffering from anxiety and panic attacks, please do speak to me if you feel comfortable. I would love to help you.

I asked on Twitter a few days ago, if people would be interested in seeing some of my artwork and a lot of people said yes, so your wish is my command! Art has been a strong passion of mine since a young age and I have always found myself with a pencil in my hand, whether it be just sketching and scribbling or actually producing a piece.

A lot of people have told me in the past that I should have taken art as a degree at university but my reply has always been and always will be, 'It's just a hobby'. As much as I love drawing, I don't think I could ever turn it into a career. With that being said, I have sold drawings in the past and I will be selling more in the future (All of these are up for sale, so if you are interested then please do get in contact with me and we can sort something out!) Who knows, it may well turn into a little business but I'm not going to get ahead of myself.

I hope you enjoy having a look through some of the drawings I have done over the past few years and please do let me know what you think!

I love Bucket Lists. I love any kind of lists. I'm a very "listy" person. Ok, that's not a word, but who cares! Did anyone else used to create bucket lists? I know that I still have bucket lists of all the crazy things I want to do before I die and of all the places I want to travel to. I find it so satisfying being able to tick things off a list. I can't be the only one?

As you may have seen, I recently did a 2016 goals post, in which I spoke about the main goals that I want to achieve this year. There are a lot of other things I want to do this year which I didn't include so I thought I would share with you my bucket list of everything I want to do before 2017. Let's see how many I can tick off before the end of this year!

1. Pass my driving test.

2. Get a car.

3. Travel to somewhere hot in Summer.

4. Graduate university with a 2:1 or higher.

5. Read 30 books (I am not a big a reader as I used to be so this will be a challenge).

6. Buy a new camera.

7. Join a sports team.

8. Learn a new language.

11. Witness a beach sunset.

12. And a beach sunrise.

I honestly cannot believe I am even thinking of writing this post. 2015 is over! When the hell did that happen? I swear the years get quicker and quicker. It feels like only yesterday that we were celebrating the start of 2015 and now we are celebrating the start of 2016. I'm going to be 23 this year and that is genuinely terrifying! I'm also going to be trying daily blogging this year and that's even more terrifying. I don't think I quite realise the challenge I have placed on myself but we'll see how this one goes, shall we?

I'm going to be honest with you, although there have been good times this year, 2015 has been a fairly rocky one! One that for a few reasons I would like to try and forget about. I don't have a perfect life; no one does. We all have bad years, and 2015 was mine! I have faced a lot of downfalls this year that I don't really feel extremely comfortable sharing but let's just say I had to defer my final year of university and I came out of a two year relationship a few days before my birthday.

I always feel really awkward when I talk about the bad things that happen in my life because I tend to feel like I am annoying people or seeking attention and that isn't what this post is about. I seriously debated writing this post. It was sat in my drafts and I would keep coming back to it, rewriting it and never knowing the exact words to use. I have read so many positive reflections on other people's year and knowing that mine didn't exactly turn out to be filled with lollipops and rainbows, I feel almost ashamed to write it.

Because of this, I am not going to go into detail about this years events but take it as more of a time to talk about the things that I have learnt this year. Through the tough times, I have had constant support from close friends and family. The support I have received has been so overwhelming. My downfalls have brought me closer to those I care about and it has made me realise that I don't necessarily need to have everything going smoothly to be happy. Sometimes we need sadness to bring joy to our lives and it's times like this that you come to learn what's good in your life.

I have learnt that I need to do things that specifically make me happy, not doing things that people expect of me and or make them happy. I need to care less about what people think about me and just learn to be myself. Taking too much time trying to change who I am to please people is not what I should be doing. 2016 for me, is going to be the year that I focus on myself and find out what truly makes me happy, rid myself of all the bad in my life and learn to be positive!

I am looking forward to just moving on and seeing what this year brings for myself and my blog and I'm hoping that you will stick with me on this journey! Here's to a positive year! Let's do this.

I'm back with yet another recipe *party popper emoji*. Banana bread is probably my favourite thing to bake and I thought that this time I would add some spices to it to give it that festive feel! I can assure you that if you bake this your taste buds will explode and your kitchen will smell like heaven. I genuinely sat in my kitchen for 45 minutes whilst it baked just so I could get multiple whiffs of the yummy goodness!

This is so incredibly simple to make (like the majority of the recipes on here, because well, me and difficult recipes don't go well together, ha!) If I can make this without burning the house down or poisoning myself then so can you! Can I just point out that this tastes absolutely amazing?! Oh. My. Goodness. The chocolate, banana and spices really blend well together. I had to restrain myself from eating it all.

I think it's safe to say that I love baking, especially at this time of year. One of the main reasons why I love baking so much is because of the fact that I get to scrap the remaining cake mixture out the bowl at the end (I cannot be the only one who does this? Sometimes I find it tastes better than the cakes themselves, ha!)

I have been wanting to make these amazing gingerbread spiced cupcakes for so long and finally got round to doing them and oh my goodness they taste and smell incredible! However, I did get an allergic reaction from the cinnamon (as highly expected), but oh well it was worth it, I couldn't not add the cinnamon into this recipe. It just wouldn't have been the same without it! I have found that everything I am allergic to I absolutely love, which is so frustrating (I must point out that it only makes my bottom lip swell up for about an hour, so it's not deadly, I am very much alive!) The smells that come from the oven when these are cooking are insanely good. This recipe is definitely one to make if you are having family and friends round this Christmas.

Ingredients
(makes 12 cupcakes)

for the cupcakes
- 150g butter, room temperature
- 150g soft brown sugar
- 3 medium eggs
- 150g self-raising flour
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- pinch freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 tbsp milk

for the frosting
- 200g butter, room temperature
- 50g soft brown sugar
- 200g icing sugar
- sprinkle ground cinnamon (to dust over the top when finished)

Method

- Preheat the oven to 180C/Gas Mark 4.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until it becomes light and fluffy.
- Sift together the flour and the spices in a separate bowl.
- Mix the eggs one at a time into the creamed butter and sugar and gradually add in the flour and spices.
- Place 12 cupcake cases into a muffin tray.
- Divide the mixture equally between each, filling them roughly 2/3 of the way full to allow room for them to rise.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and springy to touch.
- Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool

to make the frosting
- Place 50g of the butter and the brown sugar into a pan and cook on a low heat until melted.
- Stir well until it forms a thick and glossy toffee sauce then leave to one side to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the rest of the butter (150g) until creamed and smooth.
- Sift in the icing sugar and beat until combined.
- Add in the toffee sauce and mix until fully combined.
- Put the frosting into a piping bag and pipe onto the cupcakes.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon to finish off.

I play them anywhere and everywhere I go, constantly have a song stuck in my head and occasionally (almost always), annoy the hell out of the person I'm with that day by singing it none stop. I know, I have a problem but it's fine. It's December, I'm allowed.

I always have a playlist that I listen to on roll for hours on end. It changes slightly every year but there's always the good old classics on there, so I thought I'd share with you my Christmas Playlist for this year.

Just as a little side note, you will probably guess that I have a slight obsession with Michael Bublé and I certainly do not apologise! Enjoy! *cheesy grin*

Is it just me that got really infuriated by the song for the John Lewis advert this year? I mean it's a great advert with a great song, but really, did that AURORA have to go and ruin the original? Ugh. But on a happier note, that's all of my playlist for 2015! Hope you have as much fun listening to some of the songs as I do. I must point out that I am currently writing this post at 1am and playing Christmas music, I seriously need a life (and sleep, ha!)

So on Saturday, I had the privilege of attending the beautiful Rhianna's blogger event #LeedsXmasMeet (which I'm sure you have all heard about because I, along with many other bloggers and Rhianna herself had not stopped going on about it for quite a while!) I had been looking forward to this event ever since I got the email about it a fair few months back and Saturday was finally the day and I was so unbelievably excited.

The event was held at the Black Swan on Call Lane in Leeds, such a truly beautiful place and a great venue for an event like this! This is the first time I had been to the Black Swan since I couldn't make the launch they had a few months ago and it lived up to my expectations! I am still yet to order food from this place, so I will have to go back for a second visit but the decor and the staff and the overall atmosphere of this place is amazing!

Myself and 70+ other bloggers arrived to the Black Swan at around 2pm. I met the lovely Katie and Kate beforehand in the train station and we arrived at the event together. As soon as we arrived, we sat down at a table with a few bloggers I had never met before, including the absolutely gorgeous Bee and Sophie. I swear these girls are bloody lovely and I'm so glad I got to meet them! I also had the privilege of meeting the lovely Carl (who, by the way, has an amazing beard!)

As soon as we sat down the conversation started flowing and it didn't stop all afternoon! It was such a lovely atmosphere and the event was so chilled and relaxed which I loved! I much prefer chilled out events like this where everyone can just do what they please and have a good old chat!

Once the bar opened not long after we arrived, things really started to liven up! Rhianna had managed to gather some Propercorn and some Just Bee drinks for people to grab and snack on during the event and had also set up a cupcake decorating station, which I unfortunately didn't manage to get round to! I was far too busy meeting new people and having a goof ol' natter that I just forgot but DAAAAMN, I wish I had joined in!

After everyone had had a few drinks and talked more than they probably ever have in their lives, the raffle began and oh blimey, were there some absolutely amazing prizes on offer! I would have been so happy with any of these but unfortunately I didn't win anything! There was prizes from brands such as Antipodes, Witch Skincare, That Lame Company, Magnitone, Almost Famous, Manuka Doctor and many more! Well done to everyone who one something in the raffle! I am very jealous of you right now!

After the raffle (and Rhi's cute little speech) the event drew to a close and everyone said their goodbye's and went on their way. Each blogger recieved a lovely goodie bag filled with some amazing products. I love that Bee Good featured in this bag as I had been meaning to get my hands on some of their products for a while now! Rhi had also thrown in a gorgeous little Christmas/Thank you card which was just too adorable!
Overall #LeedsXmasMeet was an absolutely fabulous event and I would personally like to thank Rhianna for all the hard work she put into this to make it so enjoyable for us all. She did an amazing job and I think I can speak on behalf of everyone who attended when I say that we are so proud of you, girl! I don't think the day could have gone any better, I loved every second of it! I had an fantastic day and I got to meet so many new faces, who I am sure I will see again very soon!

I am LOVING doing blogmas already and we are only 2 days in. This is my first christmas with my blog so I wanted to go all out at my favourite time of year. I have already put up my christmas decorations and have been blasting christmas music, watching christmas films every evening and wearing my christmas jumpers for about 2 weeks now, so I think it's safe to say that I am very much in the Christmas spirit.

For me, there is simply nothing better than curling up in bed, with tonnes of blankets in an evening, lighting your favourite candle and watching your most loved christmas film at this time of year. Do you know what makes it even better? A hot chocolate. I am a sucker for a nice hot drink and this recipe that I'm going to share with you is perfect for this occasion and it's super easy to make!

Ingredients
(serves 4-6)

- 600ml milk
- 100g chopped chocolate (of your choice)
- 1/2 tbsp nutmeg
- marshmallows
- whipped cream

Method

- Combine the milk, chocolate and nutmeg into a pan and gently bring to the boil. Stirring until smooth.
- Take off the heat and pour into a mug
- Add in the marshmallows and top with whipped cream to finish off
- If you want to be really fancy you can sprinkle chocolate over the top of the cream (I am definitely doing this next time!)

There you have it. It really is THAT simple. This recipe would taste amazing with 1/2 tbsp of cinnamon in it also to add that extra hint of spice. I unfortunately couldn't add it into mine because I'm allergic to it (sigh because I loooooove cinnamon!) but I know that it tastes and smells absolutely incredible!

Remember: You do not have to follow my recipe completely. You can take ingredients out or add others in to suit your desires. This is just how I like to make my hot chocolate.

Hope you enjoy this perfect little treat as much as I do! It's certainly one to make if you have friends or family round. You'll most definitely win them over!

Is November really over already? It's December tomorrow and I can't really get to grips with that at the moment, this year has gone way too fast. I say that every year but honestly the years seem to get quicker and quicker as I get older. That being said, I am SO excited for December this year as it's the first year of having my blog AND I'm doing blogmas! *party popper noises*

Anywaaaaay, as it's the end of November, it's time for me to share with you my November favourites (yay!) This is actually the first ever favourites post that I have done (I know, I'm so bad at this. *smacks hand*) But I have finally got round to doing one, at last!

November has been a tough month for my skin, as per usual at this time of year, the colder it gets the more my skin suffers and hence my make up products change! I have dry skin all throughout the year but in winter especially, I have to find a pretty darn amazing foundation that actually works well with my dry patches. This month I have really been loving the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in the shade 115. This foundation is super light on my skin and feels really moisturising and hydrating which is what my skin needs right now! It's the perfect consistency and is a fairly medium coverage and is very buildable without getting that cakey feeling. I think this foundation will be an everyday use for me for the foreseeable future because I am OBSESSED with it right now.

I have heard quite a lot of people talking about the Sleek Contour Kit so when I was last in Boots, I made sure to pick one up and I have to say it is my favourite drugstore contouring kit at the moment. It is amazing value for money if you cannot afford higher end products. The contour shade is a cool toned brown and is completely matte and has no orange undertones so it works very well when I don't have a tan. The one thing I would say though is that if you want a heavier contour, start slowly and build it up, don't go all in straight away! The highlighter in this is a shimmery champagne-pink shade and it gives a light, natural highlight for an everyday look, which I love!

Every month, I keep saying that I am going to purchase MAC's Velvet Teddy because I think it is such a beautiful shade but I just haven't got round to it yet. However, recently I picked up Rimmel Kate Moss in the shade 03 and I genuinely feel like this is a lovely dupe for Velvet Teddy although it is a little less matte and a bit more creamy, but it's still amazing! I am all about nude lipsticks right now so this has gone to the top of my list and is the one I reach for more often than not this month, I just cannot get enough of it.

I have also been on the hunt for a new mascara as I was running low on options, so I went out and grabbed Maybelline's Lash Sensational and oh my goodness, I now realise why everyone has been raving about this product recently. It is INCREDIBLE and I am not just saying that. It makes my lashes look almost twice as long and it gives them so much volume. I am truly in love with this and don't think I will be switching to anything else any time soon. It also does a good job at separating my lashes so they don't become all clumpy *smiley face*. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Lastly and swerving away from make up (yes, I do realise that all my favourites this month have been make up products) I have been loving Yankee Candle's, specifically their Black Cherry scent. This has got to be the most delicious scent, so much so that I just want to eat it (is that weird?) I am a huge lover of candles and find that there is nothing more satisfying than lighting your favourite scent when you just want to unwind and relax after a long day. This has been the candle that I have been burning all month and I still have over half of it left so you get so much for your money! It's a win win situation really!

So there you have it, that has been everything that I have been loving this month. I really need to get into the habit of doing these favourite posts every month because I just tend to forget! Naughty me!

What have you been loving this November? Have you been loving any of these products too? Let me know!

Thought I would jump on the band wagon seeing as everyone else has and talk about the fairly recent topic of a young girl called Essena O'Neill who has caused total mayhem when she announced that she was 'quitting social media'. (Ok, maybe its not so recent now and I am just very late to join the party, oops!)

For those of you that don't know, Essena had gained quite a large following on platforms such as YouTube and Instagram and recently she posted a video on YouTube that sparked a lot of mixed reviews. In this video she talked about why she had made the decision to quit social media, that social media is 'all fake' and nothing is 'real', that everyone involved in a life on the internet gets caught up in an unrealistic and possessive world. She talked about how she was obsessed with social media, how she was obsessed with gaining more followers, getting more views and being 'successful'.

In a way, I can sort of understand where she is coming from. Social media CAN be destructive, for both people who make a living out of it and for those who follow them. A lot of creators on the internet will almost always cut out bad parts of their life, they edit videos and cut out the mistakes or the bits they that weren't spot on, to make the whole thing 'perfect'. Mainly because they want people to be attracted to their content, be inspired by it and to create this image that their lives are fun-filled and stress free. They don't want to show the world them crying over the pizza they burnt or the eyeliner they ruined when wiping their eye by accident or them just generally stressing over the challenges life throws at them. This isn't a bad thing however, I know I'd rather not share the bad parts of my day, it's just in our nature to want to show ourselves at our best. But this is where some people will get the idea that social media isn't 'real'. Some bloggers and instagrammers (and I am most definitely guilty of this also) will spend FOREVER getting the perfect shot with the best lighting etc. For example, that girl you may follow on Instagram who has 200k followers with the stunning body, beautiful hair and perfect makeup who posted a photo in a beautiful location holding up a sports drink bottle with the caption 'Just going for my morning run' has probably, most definitely had that picture staged, be it for a sponsored post or whatever the situation. I know full well that if I was going for a morning run, I would not look amazing. It would probably be a highly unattractive selfie of me with no make up on and my hair tied back. Being completely honest, the picture for this post took me about 12 attempts, 4 different locations, different lighting and it was then edited and adjusted even more. Basically what I am trying to grasp at here is the fact that some of the lives you see on the internet most certainly do not portray real life.

With that being said, social media can also be an amazing place, a community where people connect and make friends. It can be inspirational and enjoyable following someone on their journey through life be that via videos and daily vlogs on Youtube or blogs like this. It can be a place where people can give advice, where someone can advertise products that they like to use in the hope that other people will enjoy them to. It can be a place where people make a living out of it, it becomes their job which some work very hard on and create amazing content for their viewers or readers. The list could go on as there are so many pro's to social media. I know that social media has helped me in many ways and made me a happier person. I have made some amazing friends that I never would have met if it wasn't for the internet and if it wasn't for social media, I would not be able to keep in touch with my family in Australia. Seeing their photos on places like Facebook fills me with so much happiness each and every day, knowing that I can speak to them whenever I want and for FREE, even though they are thousands and thousands of miles away.

If it wasn't for social media, there wouldn't be this amazing blogging community. I started my blog as as a way of helping myself get over my anxiety. It's something I have never spoken openly about, but writing my blog posts and reading other people's blogs helps to distract me from my worries. It's a place I can go to just unwind and relax and just forget about the stresses of life. I do it as a hobby, something that I enjoy and unlike Essena and a few others out there, I will not let numbers define me. The amount of followers I have on Twitter or Instagram or the amount of people I have reading my blog will never consume me. I'd be doing this even if there was only 1 person reading.

Don't let numbers define you. Don't let the pressure get to you. By this I mean, if you haven't stuck to your schedule, missed a post day, or not uploaded a video to YouTube, don't worry! It's your choice and you should never feel like you HAVE to stick to it. Essena spoke about the overwhelming pressure she felt whilst having a job based around social media, that she felt like she missed out on her teenage years because she was surrounded by the internet. It doesn't have to be like that and the views that people have about social media now should not be defined by one girl who was weighed down by unnecessary pressure. The point I'm ultimately trying to make, is that social media is what YOU make it. You are in control, not social media. You don't need hundred likes on a photo or thousands of followers to be successful or to be happy. Just remember that!
